Logansport IN, 11/20/25: For the 9th year, The Logansport Parks & Recreation Department and the Logansport Parks & Recreation Foundation, are offering the annual holiday display of lights at Spencer Park. Many sponsoring organizations and businesses are a part of this very special event. Christmas In the Park’s opening night will take place on Tuesday, November 25th and will end on January 4th. The lights will remain on from dusk to dawn.
The grand opening will take place on Tuesday November 25th from 5-7 p.m. Not only will we be cutting the ribbon for the park at 6 p.m., but Santa and his live reindeer will be available to meet and greet families at the Eel River Pavilion at 5 p.m. Families will also be able to get a cup of hot chocolate, and have their first opportunity to walk through the park. The grand opening is being sponsored by the Cass County Visitors Bureau, Thrivent Insurance, and Blue Fox Heating, Cooling & Plumbing.
New additions to the park include a new locomotive sponsored by Harris Glass, along with its first train car sponsored by Transco. Consolidated Union is sponsoring a new wreath on the Eel River Pavilion, and the Delta Theta Chi Sorority has sponsored a new selfie station located along High Street. Featured again this year are the 12 Days of Christmas that includes the new sponsor of the Pear Tree Gallery for the 1st day of Christmas. Finally, the legendary rivals of Indiana University and Purdue University now have their logos located along the route. They were provided respectively by proud alumni & supporters of Indiana University and the Purdue Alumni Club of Cass County.
As always, trees with special lighting will enhance the beautiful displays throughout the park. Visitors may notice that the tunnel is even more vibrant than usual, thanks to the Century Career Center’s fabrication of more tunnel
pieces. All of the other special displays such as the jumping deer, the teddy bear toss, and the waving Santa are being lit up for the public’s enjoyment. In addition, the Century Career Center Media Students are in the process of creating original & unique commercials that will be available upon their completion. They will be located on the Christmas In the Park Facebook page found at “facebook.com/ChristmasInthePark”.

Daytime park users should plan to park their vehicles on the north side of High Street or near the lower pavilion to utilize the park. The Parks Department has requested that park users please stay away from the Christmas décor in the Park. The guy wires and electrical wires pose both a choking and/or a tripping hazard.
