Swimming lessons are available during the summer for residents of Cass County (only) aged four and older. There is no cost for lessons (limit 210 passes).

    Beginner Swim Lessons
This level is for swimmers who are just getting comfortable in the water. Swimmers will learn water safety, floating on front and back, proper breathing, kicking, and basic arm movements. The focus is on building confidence, body position, and introducing foundational skills needed for freestyle and backstroke. No prior swim experience is required.

    Intermediate Swim Lessons
This level is for swimmers who are comfortable putting their face in the water and can swim short distances independently. Swimmers will refine freestyle and backstroke technique, learn side breathing, and be introduced to breaststroke and dolphin kick. Emphasis is placed on endurance, stroke development, and water safety skills.

    Advanced Swim Lessons
This level is for swimmers who can swim multiple lengths of the pool using freestyle and backstroke with proper breathing. Swimmers will improve stroke efficiency, learn all four competitive strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly), and work on turns, dives, and endurance. Focus is on technique, stamina, and preparing swimmers for swim team or competitive swimming.

Our goal is to offer aquatic activities that promote physical fitness and family enjoyment in a safe and healthy setting.

  • The primary feature of Muehlhausen Park is the Muehlhausen Aquatic Center. This facility has served the community since its original construction in 1955. It has had several updates over the years to the pool facility, with its most recent improvements done in 2015. At that time, the pool size was reduced from an Olympic sized pool. The pool has a maximum capacity of 278 people. It still maintains 8 lanes. Its dimensions are 80’x80’, with depths of 3’ to 5’.  A new water slide was installed along with a splash pad with multiple water features. The bathhouse is original but was painted in 2015 with aquatic themed murals on all the exterior and interior concrete surfaces.
